CONCORD, Calif. (KCBS) Officers shot and killed a man they said was wanted on several warrants after exchanging gunfire with him early Wednesday night.
The Contra Costa Times reports the shooting occurred around 6:10 p.m. at Hillsborough Court and Hillsborough Drive near Olivera Road.
Officers were called to the area on a report of a disturbance at a home. Responding officers recognized the suspect, a Concord resident, and ordered him to stop.
He initially followed orders, but then ran into an apartment carport.
Upon being confronted by police, the suspect pulled out a handgun and exchanged several shots with one of the officers.
He was fatally shot. Neither of the officers on scene was hit.
Police said the man was wanted on several felony arrest warrants.
The department is continuing to investigate the case.
