Two Shot in SF North Beach Neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) Two people were shot early Saturday morning in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood and plainclothes officers who witnessed the incident were able to catch the suspect.

San Francisco police officer Albie Esparza said the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. at Columbus and Grant streets.

"The San Francisco police criminal investigations unit plainclothes officers happened to be in the same area at the time of the shooting and had seen the suspect involved in that shooting, which he apparently shot three people" said Esparza.

The two victims, all men in their 20's, were all hospitalized but are expected to survive.

The plainclothes officers attempted to stop one fleeing suspect, who pointed a gun at the officers.

The officers fired at him and missed, but were able to nab the suspect and collect his gun.

Esparza said they are still investigating the incident and it is still unclear if there are any other suspects at large.
