No Definitive Cause in S.J. School Fire

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KCBS)- Fire investigators in San Jose have wrapped up their initial probe into this week's blaze at Trace Elementary School, but have yet to determine the definitive cause.

A statement released by the department says that there was no obvious accidental heat sources identified and that the investigation will continue.

The early Monday morning fire destroyed the school's library, media center and 16 classrooms, causing an estimated $8 million in damages.

San Jose school officials say it will take at least two years to rebuild the school, but classes at Trace Elementary School are expected to begin as planned on August 16th with the help of portable classrooms.
