Two Dead After Boat Capsizes

POINT REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE, Calif. (KCBS) Authorities say two people are dead and two others remain missing after a boat capsized off the Point Reyes coast Wednesday afternoon.

A Coast Guard spokesman said rescue crews pulled two people from the water, but they were pronounced dead by local officials once they were taken to shore.

No details were released about the two victims, but Coast Guard Petty Officer Erik Swanson says they were not wearing life vests.

Swanson said the four people were on board a 24-foot pleasure boat that capsized in heavy waves around noon Wednesday.

Two Coast Guard helicopters, two Coast Guard vessels and a Sonoma County Sheriff's Department are searching for the two other people.
