Novato Teens Arrested for School Vandalism
Novato police have arrested two teens on suspicion of burglary and vandalism at San Marin High School over the weekend.
John Phillip Ressler, 18, of Novato, was arrested Thursday for felony burglary and misdemeanor malicious vandalism.
He is being held on $50,000 bail.
A 17-year-old boy was booked into juvenile hall.
Police said the teens allegedly spray painted hate crime symbols and words and other markings as a practical joke.
The damage during two separate incidents occurred between Friday and Monday. The suspects also allegedly broke windows and destroyed equipment. Damage at the school, located at 15 San Marin Drive, was estimated at $6,000.
