SAN MATEO, Calif. (KCBS)_ The Harley Owners Group also known as “hog’s”, is doing some back to school charity work in the Peninsula.
Backpacks, paper pads, pens, pencils, glue sticks and more packed into a school bus and escorted from Peninsula Harley Davidson in Redwood City to San Mateo Medical Center.
Hogs leader Neal McClurg was joined by about two dozen other riders on the back to school mission.
“This means so much to us to help out the hospital and all the children that don’t have what everyone else has,” said McClurg.
Medical Center volunteer coordinator Glynis Correira says the donated items will go to the neediest kids in San Mateo County.
“They have much bigger hearts than their bikes and their bodies. They’re just an awesome group; they’ve supported us for 20 years and I couldn’t say enough about them,” said Correira.
The items will be distributed through area medical clinics and at least one homeless shelter.
