Broken Water Main in Petaluma

PETALUMA, Calif. (KCBS)_ Police in Petaluma have shut down part of a major thoroughfare there in order to give repair crews a chance to tackle a broken water main.

The break was reported at just before nine last night on Petaluma Boulevard North between Western Avenue and East Washington Street.

Water could be seen bubbling up from beneath the blacktop in an area 100 feet long and twenty feet wide before the water was shut off.

No residential customers were affected.

But crews are still on the scene making repairs.
