Modesto Company Meat Recall
MODESTO, Calif. (KCBS)_ A Modesto company is recalling about 1 million pounds of ground beef products in four states after seven people were sickened by E-coli contamination.
Agriculture officials say potentially contaminated frozen beef patties by Valley Meat Company of Modesto were sold here, as well as in Texas, Oregon, and Arizona.
The recall also affects Valley Meat Company products sold outside the U.S.
The beef was processed between October of 2009 and January of this year.
The company says it's working to get the affected frozen beef products off grocery store shelves after California health officials reported a cluster of E-coli-related illnesses in mid-July.
