SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) _ Police continue to search for a gunman who shot three men late Saturday night in San Francisco’s Mission District.

San Francisco police Officer Samson Chan said it happened shortly before midnight near 17th and Mission streets.

“Officers arrived on scene and located three victims with gunshot wounds,” Chan said. “Two received gunshot wounds to the leg and one received a gunshot wound to the chest. All three were transported to the hospital.”

The victim that was shot in the chest suffered what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Chan said the incident unfolded on the street, with the suspect and victims all believed to be on foot. He said the suspect was last spotted fleeing east on 17th Street.

Police believe the incident may have been gang-related and the gang task force is investigating what sparked the gunfire.
