Two Killed in Fatal SF Crash

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS/AP) _ Two people were killed and three others were injured following a car collision in San Francisco Saturday night.

San Francisco police said a four-door Toyota crashed head on into the passenger side of a two-door Honda on Lake Merced Drive.

Police said the Honda was sitting horizontally across the lanes of traffic on Lake Merced Boulevard before it was struck by the Toyota just north of John Muir Drive shortly before 10:30 p.m.

The two people in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene. The three in the Toyota were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with what police called life-threatening injuries.

Lake Merced Boulevard was closed from John Muir Drive to Brotherhood Way until 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning to allow police and fire personnel to access the crash.

The San Francisco Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
