Man Who Climbed Skyscraper Cited

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) _ A man known as "Spider Dan" who scaled a 58-story San Francisco skyscraper has been cited for public nuisance and trespassing.

Police say Dan Goodwin was issued the misdemeanor citations and released after he finished the climb around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The 54-year-old Lake Tahoe resident used only suction cups to scale the Millennium Tower residential complex. It took him about four hours to complete the 645-foot climb and unfurl an American flag at the top.

San Francisco prosecutors say it has not yet received the case nor decided whether to formally charge Goodwin.

Goodwin said he was trying to raise awareness to what he considers to be the vulnerability of skyscrapers to terrorist attacks.

He previously climbed Chicago's Sears Tower.
