Search for Distressed Woman Resumes

TIBURON, Calif. (KCBS)_ The search for a woman who sent out a distress call from the waters off the coast of Tiburon last night is set to resume Tuesday morning.

The call came in just minutes before 10 p.m. Monday night.

A Coast Guard chief says the woman sounded distressed, saying "Listen to me, listen to me, I have mayday!"

Multiple calls were made by Coast Guard officials to the area where the call came from, but they all went unanswered.

Two Coast Guard vessels were sent out last night to search the Tiburon Peninsula north to the Richmond San Rafael Bridge and South to Angel Island, but they had no luck.

Tuesday's search will cover a larger area.
