A's Bring Up Lefty Starter Bobby Cramer

OAKLAND (CBS 5 / AP) - The Oakland Athletics have purchased the contract of left-hander Bobby Cramer from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the fifth spot in their rotation.

He will start Monday at Kansas City.

The A's transferred infielder Adam Rosales to the 60-day disabled list to clear roster room for Cramer, a 30-year-old pitcher who began the year in the Oakland organization before being loaned to Quintana Roo of the Mexican League on March 16. He went 13-3 with a 2.95 ERA in 22 games, 20 starts, and allowed a .244 opponents batting average.

He fills a void left when the A's made a rare September move Monday by sending down struggling starter Vin Mazzaro to pitch in the Triple-A playoffs.
