Lindsay Lohan Freed From Jail After Posting $300K Bail

BEVERLY HILLS (AP) - Lindsay Lohan has been freed from a suburban Los Angeles jail after posting $300,000 bail.

The 24-year-old actress was freed late Friday night after spending just less than 12 hours at the facility, where she has been taken twice before on a 2007 drug and drunken driving case.

Lohan's release had faced nearly a month in jail after Judge Elden S. Fox ordered her held without bail until her next hearing. Lohan's attorney challenged the ruling, which was overturned by another judge Friday evening.

The "Mean Girls" star is due back in a Beverly Hills court on Oct. 22, when a judge will formally determine whether she violated her probation by failing a drug screening.

She is now required to wear an ankle alcohol monitor and stay away from places that primarily sell alcohol.
