Firefighter Injured In Bodega Bay Blaze
BODEGA BAY (BCN) - Fire officials say a wildfire burning near Bodega is now contained.
Officials with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection say after the fire had consumed 89 acres, fire crews were able to contain the blaze about 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
One firefighter was injured battling the fire. CalFire dispatcher Shelly Putman says the firefighter was in critical but stable condition at a Bay Area hospital. No details about the nature of the firefighter's injuries were released.
Authorities say the fire, which was first reported a little after noon Saturday, for a while had threatened homes and the town of Bodega.
One outbuilding and two vehicles were destroyed in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Bodega is about 60 miles north of San Francisco.
