KCBS-AM, an equal opportunity employer, is dedicated to providing broad outreach regarding job vacancies at the station. We seek the help of local Community Organizations in referring qualified applicants to our station. Community organizations that wish to receive our vacancy information should contact Jun Abanilla at KCBS-AM by calling (415) 765-4000. In addition, all listeners are encouraged to visit www.cbsradio.com for an online listing of job openings at all CBS Radio Inc. radio stations.

Reporters, Anchors, News & Web Writers |

KCBS is always interested in hearing from experienced reporters, anchors, news & web writers looking for part time work.  Major market experience is required, and strong knowledge of the Bay Area is a big plus.  Please send writing and sound samples to: Jane McMillan, Associate Director of News & Programming, mcmillan@kcbs.com, or 865 Battery Street, San Francisco CA, 94111-1503.

No phone calls please.

Production Assistants |

For those just getting started in news radio, KCBS accepts applications for part time, entry level positions. Production Assistants take in reporter and network feeds, handle web podcasting, assist editors in constructing the hourly newscasts, and get an all around feel for the workings of a 24/7 newsroom. Interested applicants should send a letter and resume to: Jane McMillan, Associate Director of News & Programming, mcmillan@kcbs.com, or 865 Battery Street, San Francisco CA, 94111-1503.

No phone calls please.

Journalism Internships |

KCBS offers unpaid journalism internships to qualified students at least 18 years of age, enrolled as a college junior or senior, who will receive academic credit for their work.

The duration of internships is negotiable, but should include at least two full days per week to allow for shadowing reporters, learning to write, report and conduct interviews, and to become familiar with the editorial process.

Because KCBS treats interns as part of our news team, we require the same professional dress and behavior as staff.

Contact: Todd Smoot,  Executive Producer/Associate Director of News & Programming, at smoot@sfradio.cbs.com, or 865 Battery Street, San Francisco CA, 94111-1503.

No phone calls please.
