1 Dead In Fairfield Home Invasion, Shooting

FAIRFIELD (BCN) - Police are searching for four men who burst into a Fairfield home Tuesday night and fatally shot a victim in the home's living room.

At about 9 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 200 block of Hamilton Drive, which is between Auto Mall Parkway and Woolner Avenue.

A caller from inside the home told police that his friend had been shot, and police spoke with several people who were at the home when officers arrived.

Witnesses told police that four unidentified men entered through the front door and at least one of the men was armed with a rifle.

The armed man said something about killing the suspect before he opened fire in the living room, striking the victim four times in the upper torso.

The suspects, described only as black males wearing dark clothing and ski masks, the fled the house through the front door.

The victim was transported by ambulance to NorthBay Medical Center and was pronounced dead at approximately 10:40 p.m.

Tuesday night's homicide is Fairfield's first since Oct. 12, when two twin 3-year-old girls were found fatally stabbed in a burning apartment.
