Bicyclist Hurt In Campbell Hit & Run Crash

CAMPBELL (BCN) - A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Campbell Tuesday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The accident was reported at 6:41 a.m. in the area of White Oaks Road and Camden Avenue, near state Highway 17.

CHP Officer John Short said a bicyclist was hit by a pickup truck, but he did not know the extent of the bicyclist's injuries.

The driver, described as an unshaven Hispanic man in his 40s or 50s who spoke with an accent, drove away afterward, Short said.

The truck was described as a white or tan Datsun or Toyota pickup that had been converted to a flatbed, Short said. It has wooden panels on the side and was full of scrap metal.

The windshield was shattered from the impact of the bicyclist, Short said.

Anyone who spots the vehicle should call 911 immediately.
