Narsai David Wine Review: Dry Creek and J Vineyards

(KCBS) - KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David reviewed two wines from Sonoma.

He said the 2008 J Vineyards Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley is delicious even before you taste it. "The aromas have such a perfect balance between the fruit and oak. The oak is just the subtlest touch. On the palate, that finesse continues. Mouth watering balance of citrus and lots of fruit with just the right amount of acid. Here's a really enjoyable, balanced wine."

Narsai described the aromas from the 2007 Old Vine Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley as spicy and chocolatey. "Made from 85-year-old vines, the concentration of flavors is rich with ripe berries, lots of berries. Plenty of soft tannins on the background. Here's a serious Zinfandel... one that will age beautifully (if you can keep your hands off it to leave it alone for aging)."

Both wines are $28.00.
