The MTV Europe Music Awards take place in beautiful Madrid this Sunday. This week is a great time to check out the hottest nominees of the year. Meet the crew up for Best Pop Singer.

The competition is fierce. Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Usher are all strong entries. Who will win? Who will lose? More importantly, who will wear the most outrageous dress (ok, probably not Usher). Meet the competitors and video highlights from their year. Then tell us in the poll below who should win the EMA for Best Pop Singer.

This is has been a mega year for Katy Perry. She had a hit single, a huge album and even got married. What more does she have to do to get your vote?

Lady GagaView Video
Lady Gaga is the clear favorite. This year her Little Monsters tour drew millions of fans. Plus, she walked away with the bulk of the MTV Video Music Awards.

Miley CyrusView Video
Voting is open until November 4th. Her parents very public and ugly divorce could rally Miley’s fans. If anyone needs a win, it’s Miley.

RihannaView Video
Don’t count Rihanna out. Her “Only Girl In The World” tour and her collab with Eminem put her back on top of the charts. This could be Rihanna’s year.

UsherView Video
Usher is more than Justin Bieber’s mentor. He’s a superstar in his own right. Could he pull away from the pack of women and win big?

Take the poll . Who really deserves to win an EMA for Best Pop Singer? Then be sure to come back November 7, 2010 for highlights from the night, winners and a killer gallery of the best dressed.
