San Anselmo Bicyclist Hit By Car

SAN ANSELMO (BCN) -- A car hit a bicyclist in San Anselmo Sunday afternoon, police said.

The collision took place near westbound Redhill and Sequoia avenues at 12:23 p.m.

The cyclist, a 51-year-old San Rafael man, was apparently riding against the flow of traffic when he was hit by a white Volkswagen GTI attempting to turn right onto Redhill Avenue, police said.

Ross Valley Fire Department paramedics responded and treated the cyclist at the scene for minor injuries. The victim refused to be transported to the hospital for a more thorough examination, police said.

The 44-year-old woman driver, a San Anselmo resident, was not injured.

The collision remains under investigation.
