2 Arrested In Series Of Santa Rosa Car Burglaries
SANTA ROSA (BCN) - Santa Rosa police made a break on Monday that led to two arrests in a case of approximately 30 serial automobile burglaries that took place recently throughout the city, police reported.
A resident in the area of Guerneville Road and Marlow Road called officers on Monday to report discarded property left in their backyard, police said. The items were found to be stolen from a recent automobile robbery that was connected with numerous similar cases, police said.
Upon analyzing possible access points to the property, police determined that a house in the 2000 block of Guerneville Road may have been connected to the dumping of the stolen property, police said.
It was at this home that they found 29-year-old Santa Rosa resident Angelo Michael Lancaster, who associated with the people living at that property, police said.
Searches of both the home on Guerneville Road and an apartment connected with Lancaster in the 2100 block of Jennings Avenue revealed several items that have been stolen in the string of robberies, police said.
The new leads also led police to another Santa Rosa resident, 30-year-old Michael James Williams, who was found to be in possession of both stolen items connected with the burglaries and methamphetamine, police said.
Property from six of the vehicle robberies was recovered, police said, but most of the stolen goods had been sold or traded for drugs.
Lancaster was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of burglary, possessing stolen property, and probation violations, police said.
Williams was also booked into the Sonoma County Jail, but his charges were burglary, possessing stolen property, and possession of methamphetamine, police said.
