Hawaii Rolls Over San Jose State, 41-7

HONOLULU, Hawaii (AP) ― Bryant Moniz threw for a school-record 560 yards and three touchdowns as Hawaii rolled over San Jose State 41-7.

Kealoha Pilares caught 154 yards and one touchdown while Greg Salas received 144 yards and one touchdown for the Warriors (8-3, 6-1 WAC).

Aaron Brown picked off a pass by San Jose State's Jordan La Secla for his first career interception, and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown. Brown also had one of the Warriors' season-high eight sacks.

Moniz's single-game school passing record put him in third place for the most yards passing in Warrior history after Timmy Chang and Colt Brennan.

It was Hawaii's first win after the Warriors lost 42-7 at No. 3 Boise State two weeks ago. Hawaii had a bye last week.

It's the eighth straight loss for the Spartans (1-10, 0-6), and their sixth straight loss in Western Athletic Conference play.
