Dozens Of Cars Burglarized In San Anselmo

SAN ANSELMO (BCN) - Thirty-seven vehicles were broken into and rifled through on seven streets in southern San Anselmo late Saturday and early Sunday, San Anselmo police reported.

Eight of the vehicles had had property stolen from inside of them, police said, while the others were merely picked through and then left.

Police located the first of the 37 victimized cars around 8 a.m. Sunday, they said. The department believes the break-ins occurred between noon on Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Affected cars were found on Los Angeles Boulevard, San Francisco Boulevard, Santa Cruz Avenue, Monterey Avenue, Durham Road, Ross Avenue, and Alder Avenue, police said.

Police are using the rash of burglaries to encourage drivers to not leave valuables in their cars and to never leave their vehicles unlocked.

The San Anselmo Police Department is actively investigating this case and working to identify suspects, police said.
