Women Roommates Sexually Assaulted, Robbed In Oakland

OAKLAND (BCN) - Three Oakland women who are roommates were sexually assaulted and robbed at gunpoint by two men early Saturday, police spokeswoman Holly Joshi said Tuesday.

A 26-year-old woman was walking home from the West Oakland BART station at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when two men approached her near 11th and Market streets, Joshi said.

The men, one of whom had a gun, sexually assaulted the woman and then took her to an ATM and made her withdraw money to give to them, Joshi said.

They then forced her to take them to the apartment where she lives with two other women, one 30 and the other 29, according to Joshi.

The men then sexually assaulted and robbed the other two women, Joshi said. The ordeal didn't end until 3:30 a.m., when the men left and the women called police, she said.

The women were treated at a local hospital and released, according to Joshi.

The two suspects are at large. Joshi said police don't have a detailed description of them.

Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $30,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

People with information can call police investigators at (510) 238-3641 or Crime Stoppers at (510) 777-8572 or (510) 777-3211.
