Narsai David Recipe: Oatmeal Shortbread
(KCBS) – KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David encountered one of the best cookies this year at Winesong, an event that raises money for the Mendocino Coast Hospital Foundation. The cookies were made by Margaret Fox who started Cafe Beaujolais. Now, she’s the Culinary Director at Harvest Market.
They’re so easy to make and so simply delicious!
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup light brown sugar
generous pinch salt
2/3 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups white flour.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Mix together all ingredients until thoroughly blended. Press evenly into an ungreased 9″ by 13″ pan. Bake for about 45 minutes until golden brown. Cut while warm into 24 or more pieces.
