Tech Watch: Google Loses Privacy Lawsuit Over Maps

(KCBS) – A family from Pennsylvania has won a lawsuit against Google for trespassing on their property to take photos for its Maps website.

They won’t be able to do much with their winnings however as the court only awarded them $1.

CNET Editor-at-Large Brian Cooley explains how and when street view images are taken, whether it’s legal, and what you can do to avoid being photographed for Google Maps.

You can hear his Tech Watch report Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:50 P.M. on KCBS All News 740AM and 106.9FM.
