Missing Santa Cruz Hiker Found Alive

FELTON (BCN) -- A woman who was reported missing from her home Tuesday was found safe on a hiking trail in Santa Cruz County Saturday afternoon, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said.

Two hikers found 58-year-old Felton resident Debra Collins on a walking trail in Fall Creek State Park, located in the northern part of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, Lt. Steve Pursley said.

"She had fallen off a trail," Pursley said.

Collins had suffered an injury, Pursley said, and was unable to get out on her own.

A friend of Collins hadn't seen her since Nov. 24 and reported her missing.

Collins was rescued around 1 p.m. and transported to a hospital for treatment, Pursley said.
