Toddler Pulled From San Francisco Hyatt Fountain

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS / AP / BCN) -- An 18-month-old boy who was reported missing Wednesday in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco was hospitalized after being found in an indoor fountain at the hotel, police said.

Officers responded at 1:26 p.m. after getting a call about the missing child and found the boy in a decorative fountain pool on an upper floor at the hotel, SFPD Sgt. Michael Andraychak said.

KCBS' Margie Shafer Reports:

The toddler was not breathing and had to be revived by officers using CPR.

Paramedics took the child to St. Francis Memorial Hospital, but authorities did not have any information on the child's condition.

Pete Hillan, a spokesman for the Hyatt Regency, said the hotel was "obviously very concerned for the family and child involved, and are working with police" in their investigation into the incident.

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco is located at 5 Embarcadero Center.
