Neil Patrick Harris May Host Next Oscars

LOS ANGELES (ET/CBS) - Could new daddy Neil Patrick Harris be the next Oscar host? "I was waiting for that Oscar call," he jokes. "I'm still waiting."

In the meantime, the "How I Met Your Mother" star is certainly getting plenty of prep hosting the Spike TV Video Game Awards this Saturday!

"This award show will be different," he says. "Rather than having lots of set pieces everywhere, the sets are going to be done digitally."

Cool visual effects are something the actor enjoys in his down time too. "I'm a medium-sized video gamer," he tells ET. "I played a lot more when I was younger ... My new favorite now is probably Call of Duty," he chuckles at himself, adding, "I said dooty."

Calm and collected, he reveals his plan to make the night go smoothly, saying, "My plan has always been the same; try to be timeless and Dean Martin. I try to be as drunk as Dean Martin, that makes it all go away much faster."
