Undergradute Applications On The Rise At Stanford

STANFORD (BCN) - Undergraduate applications to Stanford University are on the rise, according to the university's Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Applications for Stanford's fall freshman class set a record when approximately 34,200 high school students applied. This number includes almost 6,000 students who applied under the restrictive early action program.

Officials said the number of applicants represents a 7 percent increase compared to last year, when more than 32,000 students applied.

In mid-December, Stanford sent 754 early applicants acceptance letters. Students who applied under the regular admission program will be notified by the end of March, according to the university.
