Amber Alert Issued For Abducted Boy; May Be San Jose Bound

PATTERSON (KCBS / CBS 5 / BCN) – Authorities were searching for a four-year-old boy who was abducted from Patterson in Stanislaus County Tuesday afternoon.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said the boy, Juliani Cardenas, was abducted around 4:12 p.m. He is described as Hispanic, 3 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 40 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said he was last seen wearing dark pants and a light blue shirt.

The suspect is 27-year-old Jose Esteban Rodriguez, described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white and black shirt, checkered shorts and a beanie.

KCBS' Mike Colgan Reports:

Authorities said the suspect was last seen driving an silver-colored Toyota Corolla with California license plate 6HBW445.

Investigators originally thought Juliani and his alleged captor might be en route from Patterson to San Jose, but have since expanded their focus to include anywhere in California, Stanislaus County Chief Tori Hughes said.

Anyone with information about the pair is asked to call the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department at (209) 380-6015.
