SAN JOSE (BCN) — A young man was shot and killed in San Jose Friday evening, a police spokesman said.

The victim, who has not been identified, was found suffering from gunshot wounds around 4:55 p.m. at Story Road and East Capitol Expressway, Officer Jose Garcia said. He appears to have been between 18 and 20 years old.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Garcia said.

He said Story Road was blocked in both directions as of about 6 p.m. between Galahad Avenue and East Capitol Expressway while police investigate the shooting.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area.
