4 More Vehicles Found In Canal, None Tied To Missing NorCal Boy

PATTERSON (AP) -- Authorities say crews recovered four vehicles while searching a Central California canal for a car possibly linked to a missing 4-year-old boy.

Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy Royjindar Singh said none of the vehicles found Tuesday was the silver 2003 Toyota Corolla sought in connection with the kidnapping of Juliani Cardenas.

Juliani was last seen Jan. 18 when his mother's ex-boyfriend, Jose Esteban Rodriguez, allegedly snatched him from his grandmother's arms in Patterson.

The incident prompted a statewide Amber Alert that was later narrowed to the San Joaquin Valley and San Jose areas.

Singh said the strongest lead remains a tip about a vehicle fitting the description of the one used in the abduction entering the canal.

He said the search will resume Wednesday.
