GILROY (BCN) — Gilroy police arrested seven suspected members of the Norteno gang over the last three days.

On Monday morning, detectives arrested Jesus Gonzalez, 22, for possession for sale of methamphetamine and possession for sale of marijuana after serving a search warrant in the 200 block of Gurries Drive, according to police.

On Saturday, four men were arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred at about 1:05 a.m. that day in the 5500 block of Monterey Road.

Police said a man confronted a 22-year-old woman as she was walking in the parking lot of the National 9 Motel and asked her about her gang affiliation.

Soon after, the victim saw a group of men gather in front of her motel room and then force their way inside, police said. They demanded property from her and two members of her family.

The men took the property and left, but a responding officer saw their car and ordered them to stop. Four of the five occupants were arrested in connection with the robbery.

They were identified as Alexis Gonzalez, 23; Andrew Bustamante, 22; Addam Norberte, 18; and Joseph Medina, 21.

In the car, officers found the victim’s stolen property, along with gang indicia and bludgeoning weapons.

A fifth man, Isaiah Luna, 18, was arrested for possession of a weapon. Police do not yet know if he was involved in the robbery.

That night, detectives also arrested Jonathan Fernandez, 20, during a probation search in the 1000 block of San Miguel Drive. Fernandez, who had recently been released from prison, was arrested for a violation of his parole conditions, police said.

All seven suspects were booked into Santa Clara County jail. They are all Gilroy residents.

Anyone with information about the cases is asked to contact Anti-Crime Team Detective Doug Remmick at (408) 846-0350 or report a tip anonymously by calling the We Tip line at (800) 782-7463.
