2 Arrested In Santa Rosa 'Shoulder-Tap' Sting

SANTA ROSA (BCN) -- Officers arrested two people for buying alcohol for minors during an undercover investigation on Saturday, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

With the help of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, police visited four off sale alcohol establishments during the "shoulder tap" operation. An off sale establishment is one at which the beverages are consumed off of the premises, police said.

A total of 16 patrons at the four local businesses were asked to supply alcoholic beverages to a minor decoy, police said.

Of those asked, police said that two of the customers agreed and later purchased alcohol for the decoy.

Both subjects were arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor and later released with a citation and a written notice to appear.
