Loaded Guns Recovered After Gang Members Evade South San Francisco Police

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- Police officers in South San Francisco recovered two loaded guns after a group of purported gang members evaded the officers Wednesday night, police said.

Two officers spotted five suspected gang members on the 300 block of Tamarack Lane about 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, and the group scattered as the officers approached.

According to police, the officers located two of the alleged gang members around the corner at the intersection of Lux and Maple avenues.

The men fled again as the officers approached, but this time a brief foot chase ensued, although the officers lost sight of the suspects as they darted through a house on the 400 block of Lux Avenue.

However, while retracing the suspects' steps, one of the officers located a loaded .357-caliber Magnum revolver and a loaded .38-caliber revolver, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the two suspects is asked to contact Neighborhood Response Team officers at (650) 877-8937.
