SAN DIEGO (AP) — Matt Dorr scored 15 of his season-high 17 points in the second half as San Diego stunned West Coast Conference leader Saint Mary’s 74-66 on Wednesday night.
Dorr hit three 3-pointers in the second half as San Diego (6-21, 2-10) rebounded from an 11-point deficit early in the second half for the win.
Chris Manresa added 17 points and Darian Norris had 15 for the Toreros, whose fans stormed the court at the buzzer.
The Toreros, who trailed 35-24 on Mickey McConnell’s 3-pointer 26 seconds into the second half, shot 66.7 percent in the final 20 minutes while holding the Gaels to just 41.2 percent.
Mitchell Young led Saint Mary’s (22-5, 10-2) with 24 points and McConnell scored 21.
Dorr drained a 3-pointer at the 10:53 mark to put San Diego ahead for good at 46-43. It started a 19-5 run that gave the Toreros their biggest lead at 62-48.
