SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed while walking home from a bar in San Francisco’s Mission District early Saturday morning, a police spokesman said.

The stabbing was reported about 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of 16th and Mission streets, where the 28-year-old victim had just left a bar, San Francisco police Sgt. Mike Andraychak said.

The man was walking home when he was confronted by four men between the ages of 20 and 25, Andraychak said.

The men stabbed the victim multiple times and fled in an unknown direction, Andraychak said.

The man was taken by ambulance to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He told police he thinks the suspects were gang members who mistook him for someone else, Andraychak said.

No arrests have been made and no detailed suspect descriptions were immediately available Saturday morning, he said.

The stabbing was followed by a fatal shooting less than an hour later on the next block of Mission Street.

A man in his mid-20s was shot about 2:25 a.m. near the intersection of 17th and Mission streets. He was taken to a hospital where he died about 4 a.m., Andraychak said.

A black SUV-type vehicle was seen leaving the scene of the shooting, but no arrests have been made and no other suspect information was immediately available, he said.

The two cases were not believed to be related.

Anyone with information about either case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.

This is San Francisco for you. We need to demand that San Francisco courts Slam the book on these clowns that are taking over. Once these goons get the picture of a possible trip to the old gas chamber these bone heads will continue to mock the system.

That could happen to anyone. San Francisco seems like a dangerous place to be at 2:00 am

San Franciscans are sitting ducks as always. Citizens need to stop relying on law enforcement or we will end up in a police state. Parts of the Bay Area are getting closer already. So-called activists need the police to keep them safe. There are reasons that gun bans were lifted in D.C and Chicago. Work past the irrational fear. Step back and face the truth. The laws do NOT apply to criminals.
