Deadly I-80 Crash In Vacaville

VACAVILLE (BCN) -- Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate Highway 80 in Vacaville Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire on the right shoulder of Highway 80 just west of Cherry Glen Road at about 2:35 a.m., according to the CHP.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the female driver of a Toyota sedan was driving in the eastbound lanes when for unknown reasons she drove off the highway and struck a tree.

The vehicle burst into flames and the driver and her passenger were killed.

The crash remains under investigation.
