4.6 Earthquake Strikes Eureka Area

EUREKA (AP) — No damage or injuries were reported after an earthquake hit early Sunday morning off the coast of Humboldt County.

The U.S. Geological Survey says a quake with a magnitude of 4.6 was recorded at 5:46 a.m. Sunday about 70 miles southwest of Eureka.

A dispatcher with the Eureka Police Department says the department did not receive any calls after the quake.
