Cal Guard Allen Crabbe Wins Pac-10 Award

WALNUT CREEK (CBS / AP) ― Cal guard Allen Crabbe was picked as top freshman in the Pac-10 Conference on Monday, one of the league's key basketball awards.

Pac-10 champion Arizona won two awards with forward Derrick Williams being picked as the league's top player and Sean Miller as winning coach of the year.

Williams was second in the league in scoring at 18.8 points per game and shot a league best 61 percent in leading the Wildcats to a 14-4 conference record. He is the sixth Arizona player to win player of the year.

In other awards announced by the Pac-10, USC guard Marcus Simmons won top defensive player and Washington forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning was the most improved player.

UCLA had a league-high three players on the 10-man all-conference team in forwards Tyler Honeycutt and Reeves Nelson, and guard Malcolm Lee.
