Celebrity's $200K Lamborghini Stolen In Daring San Francisco Heist

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / KCBS) - In a heist fit for Hollywood, a thief rappelled into a San Francisco car dealership early Tuesday morning and made off with a top-of-the-line sports car.

The swashbuckling crook apparently climbed over rooftops, hooked up a climbing rope and slipped in a window of the Bentley, Lamborghini, Lotus dealership. All that was left behind was a bag of mountaineering gear.

The thief then made for a yellow and black 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo, which just happens to be owned by celebrity chef Guy Fieri, who lives in  Santa Rosa. After cutting the lock to the dealership's garage door, the burglar disappeared into the night.

KCBS' Bob Melrose Reports:

Car dealers said it may be difficult to sell the car with a distinctive bumblebee paint job. One speculated that the crook may try to get the vehicle out of the country. That job may prove even more risky than rappelling into the dealership.
