Central Valley Boy, Mom Found Safe, Boyfriend Held

PORTERVILLE, Tulare County (AP) -- An Amber Alert was cancelled after a baby and his mother were found safe hours after authorities said they had been kidnapped from their Central Valley home.

Tulare County Sheriff Bill Wittman said a tip led police Tuesday night to a home in the town of Poplar.

The 8-month-old boy and 18-year-old mother were found there along with the boyfriend accused of abducting them.

The boyfriend, 23-year-old Pedro Mosqueda, is under arrest.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Office said Mosqueda kidnapped the pair around 2 a.m. Tuesday in Porterville, a few miles east of where they were found.
