(KCBS) – Microsoft now holds a Guinness World Record for the fastest selling computer device of all time. Customers bought more than eight million of the Kinect for Xbox 360 in the first 60 days after it went on sale.

KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid said the device goes on top of an Xbox 360 game console and senses your movement and listens to your voice so you control it with your voice and body.

KCBS Technology Analyst Larry Magid Comments:

This speaks to Microsoft doing something exciting, Magid said. He said the cost of a Kinect is about $150. There are applications outside of gaming, Magid said, but will probably have work and productivity applications as well.
