Alameda Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

ALAMEDA (BCN) -- A U.S. Army soldier from Alameda died Thursday from wounds suffered when his unit was attacked in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.

Staff Sgt. Eric S. Trueblood, 27, was fatally wounded in the Kandahar province when his unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device, department officials said.

Trueblood was assigned to the 391st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, Spinelli Barracks, Mannheim, Germany.
