Monterey County Suspect Tried To Kill His Grandmother
MONTEREY (CBS SF) -- A Monterey County parolee was arrested Friday on suspicion of trying to kill his grandmother by banging her head on the ground, punching her and choking her, the sheriff's office said.
Stephen Kennedy, 35, of Bradley also allegedly held a knife to his 72-year-old grandmother's throat and told her he was going to kill her, according to the sheriff's office.
The woman, Fay Wray, was allegedly able to distract Kennedy and escape from the home they apparently shared at 74980 Copperhead Road.
Deputies found and arrested Kennedy, who allegedly had wounds consistent with his grandmother's account of the crime, the sheriff's office said. He denied the attempted killing, though.
Almost 52 grams of suspected hashish were allegedly found in his property.
