Bishop O'Dowd Defeats El Cerrito 50-32

SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) -- Kendall Jackson had 11 points as Bishop O'Dowd of Oakland defeated El Cerrito, 50-32, to win the boys' Division III NorCal championship Saturday at Power Balance Pavilion.

Brandon Ashley had nine points and eight rebounds for the Dragons (25-6), who jumped out to an 8-0 lead and were never seriously threatened. The team was held back a bit by free throws — the Dragons were just 12 of 26 from the line.

Demare Williams topped El Cerrito (25-8) with 10 points, but the Gauchos shot just 26 percent from the field and turned the ball over 23 times.

Bishop O'Dowd now has won a record seven NorCal championships and will face Lutheran of Laverne at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Power Balance Pavilion in the boys' Division III state title game.
