Narsai David Wine Review: Paul Dolan Wines
(KCBS) - KCBS Food and Wine Editor Narsai David reviews a Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay from Mendocino County.
2009 Sauvignon Blanc, Mendocino County
Made with organically-grown grapes. Lovely ripe fruit aromas of grapefruit and white spring peaches. This is not an excessively "grassy" or vegetative wine. Bright, almost spritzy like. Delicious balance with a nice lingering acidity. A very pleasing glass to drink by itself or with a luncheon salad. Fine price at $17.99.
2009 Chardonnay, Mendocino County
Also made with organically-grown grapes. A touch of oak for a slightly more complex aroma, but here's a fruity wine that shows off what chardonnay is all about. The word here is balance. A delicious medium rich wine delicious on its own, but would be fine with grilled fish or chicken. Fine price at $17.99.
