14-Year-Old Girl Escapes Redwood City Kidnap Attempt

REDWOOD CITY (BCN) - Redwood City police were searching for a man suspected of attempting to kidnap a 14-year-old girl Monday afternoon, police officials said.

The girl was walking in the 100 block of Arch Street at around 4:30 p.m. when a man drove his car into a driveway, blocking her path.

The girl refused and the suspect drove away. He was last seen driving eastbound on Hopkins Avenue.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 40s, with short gray hair and a heavyset build.

The man's car was described as a newer model, gray, four-door sedan, with dry cleaning hanging in the driver side rear window, police said.
